1995年被爆50周年ピースウェーブコンサート（広島）のテーマソングとして作られた曲です。
その前年1994年に「子どもたちに非核の世界を」とPeaceWaveのテーマソングが作られました。
そのうちの一つが「その夏を教えて」です。

英訳は新英語研究会全国大会が山口であったときに作曲のガミさんが歌って紹介をしたもので、久留米のはるかさんから送っていただきました。
そのガミさんとも、昨年もうたごえ祭典の最中に、日本青年館でお会いしました。うたごえをぐんぐん引っ張ってゆく機関車のような方でした。
